LAKE WALES – Roosevelt Academy parents can breathe a collective sigh of relief, sort of. They won most of the issues they have argued with the Polk County School Board over for the past few months, hoping to keep the Lake Wales school as it has been for decades.
Roosevelt is the school home to about 220 students, most classified as special needs, some with behavior issues, some with physical or mental disabilities and some who just haven’t fit in at mainstream schools.
