BARTOW — Bedecked in an elegant violet colored dress with matching Easter bonnet, Sarah Anthony’s 101st birthday, falling this year on Easter Sunday, was celebrated at Burkett Chapple Primitive Baptist Church following the conclusion of service.

Born April 16, 1916, to Isaac and Savannah Atwater of Thomaston, Ga., Sarah Jane Atwater Anthony was the youngest of four children. Her mother passed away when Anthony was only 3 years old, said her great-great grandniece, Latangela Goodson, who organized the birthday celebration.
