BARTOW – Adam Putnam formally announced he is running for governor Wednesday, May 10, in his hometown.
He made his declaration before his hometown crowd in Bartow framed by a huge flag of the state of Florida that hung from the portico of the Polk County History Center, which was the former Polk County Courthouse; and surrounded by hundreds of supporters and well-wishers, among them numerous elected officials, as well as those local representatives who represent Polk County. And his hometown crowd showed no shortage in their appreciation for the local boy who has made a name for himself throughout the country at the Florida Grown Hometown BBQ where attendees were treated to lunch in the 90-degree heat.
