WINTER HAVEN – In an effort to get more parents involved in educating their children, the Polk County School District kicked off a program in which it is partnering with the parents – and the community – and the result will be a parent from one of the low-performing Title I schools winning a new Ford Focus at the end of the school year.
On Aug. 2, at Jarrett-Gordon Ford in Winter Haven, there was a back to school media day, where it announced the Wheels to Engagement program. The district hopes to fill in a noticeable hole in parental involvement.
