LAKE WALES – Lake Wales Charter Schools Superintendent asked the city commission last week to allow the school district to use a historic building in town for a new middle school, Bok North.

Scheduled to open in the fall of 2018, Jesse Jackson said his board wants to renovate and use a city-owned historic school house on East Seminole Avenue. And because the Polk County School Board gave this historic school house to the city when it closed 25 years ago, the Lake Wales Charter Schools board wants a similar arrangement with the City of Lake Wales now.
