New school likely to undercut attendance at McLaughlin

BARTOW — In regards to the Lake Wales Charter Schools board plans for Bok North, the newspaper reached out to the Polk County School Board for a response.

During the Bok North presentation Aug. 1, Lake Wales Charter Schools Superintendent Jesse Jackson repeatedly motioned toward McLaughlin Middle School and Fine Arts Academy Principal Donna Drisdom and said how much he respects the work that the Polk County School Board is doing, but added that “Lake Wales needs another middle school.”
