BARTOW – With a number of people backing her, Mary Ann Harrell pleaded with the Bartow City Commission at its Oct. 2 meeting to do something about Jeffrey McGinty and Tabitha Drake, a homeless couple who regularly sit on the sidewalk in public view. Her concern is their health and safety more than it is the image being portrayed of a homeless couple in constant public view.

“These people are homeless by choice,” she said. “I’m afraid these people will die on the street and people will say that the people of Bartow let them die.”
