BARTOW – At the beginning of the Oct. 2 Bartow City Commission meeting, there were a handful of proclamations issued and with these, came a handful of compliments.

When recognizing Public Power Week, Bartow Mayor James Clements took time to thank Brad Hiers, the interim director of the Electric Department, who appeared with two of his co-workers.
