WINTER HAVEN – Each year since 2013, the Polk County Veterans Council has organized an honor flight to Washington, D.C., for older veterans who have never seen any of the war memorials. For those whose health limits the ability to take a flight, there are virtual honor flights.

The second Polk County Virtual Honor Flight was at American Legion Post 8 in Winter Haven Saturday. Around two dozen area veterans participated.
