BARTOW – Bartow City Commissioners held off at a second public hearing on making a law against chronically blocking a street or a sidewalk at the urging of the county’s public defender, who said it was too broad. However, commissioners did unanimously pass a law against allowing people from camping in a public area on a permanent basis.
With little input on the the anti-camping ordinance, by roll call vote, all five commissioners OK’d an ordinance to not allow people to set up a living situation in a public area, something that is separate than overnight camping.
