BARTOW – A plan to allow a private company to have hundreds of acres for a solar farm along U.S. 98 in Bartow, was approved as the city made changes to its Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use definitions.
The vote was 3-2, with two commissioners not convinced this will provide a benefit to Bartow. Those were Trish Pfeiffer and Leo Longworth. Commissioners Billy Simpson and Pat Huff voted in favor of the changes, as did Mayor James Clements.
