BARTOW – Polk County Board of County Commissioners are laying out the red carpet in an attempt to convince business leaders with a nationwide corporation to build what is being called a “state of the art advanced manufacturing facility” just outside of Frostproof.

Not much is known about the project, not even the corporate name. In county documents dated Jan. 23, the project is referred to as Project Rotag. According to these documents, it will cost more than $200 million to build the facility and it will employ at least 250 residents at an average salary of $59,945. According to Frostproof Mayor Rodney Cannon, the facility would require as much power as the entire city of Bartow.
