Public workshops on flood control

The water marks in the canal between Lake Lulu and Lake Shipp show just how low the water levels were within the Chain of Lakes, last April, during a drought. That is when the Chain Life Flotilla had to be rescheduled for July because of low rain counts.

WINTER HAVEN - Staff with the Southwest Florida Water Management District is hosting two public workshops in the coming days so Winter Haven residents can review operational guidelines for flood control structures in the North Winter Haven Chain of Lakes.

Both workshops will be held at the Chain of Lakes Complex Pool Room. The first workshop is tomorrow (Feb. 8) between 4:30 and 6:40 p.m. The second workshop is being held Feb. 13 between 5:30 and 7:40 p.m. The same information will be presented at both workshops.
