BARTOW - The man who shot and killed the son of Frostproof Fire Chief Clifford Cofer pled to second degree murder Jan. 26 and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
On Aug. 3, 2016, 33-year-old Caleb Justin McKinney received a call from his ex-girlfriend saying she was on the way over to his house to drop off some medicine for their son. The ex reportedly told McKinney that her new boyfriend was in the car with her.
