Nucor Corporation selects Frostproof

FROSTPROOF – For months, using the code name Project Rotag in county documents, Polk County Commissioners have been putting together a $2.25 million incentive package to convince a large steel corporation to start a new business in the county.

On March 12, the Nucor Corporation published a press release stating they decided to build a $240 million rebar micro mill south of Frostproof on U.S. 27 near the Highlands County line.
