Adult Concert Band names civic center stage for founder

Midway through the show on Wednesday Len Jordan (right) stopped the show as the stage was named for John DeYoung, who led the Bartow Adult Concert Band for 24 years.

Now called the John R. DeYoung Jr. Performing Arts Stage, it was named that at the Fourth of July's Adult Concert Band show.

BARTOW – Friend Len Jordan said at the Fourth of July concert for the Adult Concert Band, “John DeYoung and Jo moved here 58 years ago and made this his home. And his legacy lives on at Bartow High School,” he said.
