Sea Poacher Base United States Submarine Veterans Inc., recently held its second drawing of the year in which a handmade doll house was raffled.

The drawing was held at the organization’s annual Christmas party, which was held in Haines City. The winning ticket was drawn by Hazel Sellers, with the Polk County Public Schools Board of Education.

The winning ticket was held by Richard Fail, of Winter Haven, who bought his ticket at the Publix in Highland City. However, the real winners are Fail’s three daughters.

Proceeds from the raffle will go toward support of the construction of the Roy Holland Gallemore Submarine Veterans Memorial, on the grounds of Summerlin Military Academy in Bartow. The torpedo is on a temporary spot with the sail portion to be placed very soon. Approximately $15,000 remains to be raised.

For more information on this project please go to sub-vet-memorial.org.
