Mosaic is on pace to have the main portion of its Streamsong Resort open in January.
As a result, they are looking to hire hundreds of people to fill dozens of different positions, everything from concierge to line cooks, reservation specialists, housekeepers and security personnel.
Polk Works officials have indicated that a special Streamsong job fair will be held Dec. 2 and 3 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
“Streamsong will be hiring for over 50 positions (some needing multiple staff members) and giving conditional offers on site,” noted Marybeth Soderstrom, the community outreach director for Polk Works. “Right now, all the positions are listed on www.EmployFlorida.com and job seekers are encouraged to apply online in advance for the position they would like. We also encourage that job seekers come prepared with their resume and are professionally dressed.”
She said help in getting together resumes and job interview skills sharpening is available at Polk Works, either by phone or at any of their One Stop career centers.
Their mobile One Stop unit will be in Frostproof at the library tomorrow. The unit is usually in Fort Meade the final Thursday of the month, but with it being Thanksgiving next week, officials are rescheduling that visit.
The golf portion of the resort officially opened Jan. 26. The main portion of the resort, which will include a lodge with more than 200 guest rooms, spa, conference and meeting space, rooftop bar, restaurants and on site recreation opportunities like bass fishing and clay target shooting, will open sometime in January although an official date has not yet been announced.
Business giant Mosaic is building the resort on reclaimed phosphate mining land about 10 miles west of Fort Meade.
