At all sites returns are efiled. AARP does not check the returns of people who wish to prepare and mail their own return. It does answer questions about taxes.

All taxpayers who wish assistance must have Photo ID, and all documents needed to complete their tax return. This includes a copy of last years return and all SS cards, including dependents. We remind everyone that our AARP trained personnel will be doing their best to give them an accurate return, but they are ultimately responsible for the accuracy of their return.

AARP cannot prepare

• Schedule C (Business Profit and Loss) if a loss or expenses exceed $10,000

• Complicated Schedule D (Capital Gains and Losses) without proper paperwork

• Schedule E (Rental Property) with expenses, including depreciation

• Schedule F (Farm Income)

• 2106 (Employee Business Expenses)
