It is that time of year again. In January, the Bartow Police Department will be starting our annual Citizen’s Police Academy. This year, just like the last four, our program is sponsored in full by the American Legion Post #3.
The Bartow Police Department’s Citizen’s Police Academy is the one time of year that we open up the operations of the Police Department to residents and business owners of Bartow. It is your opportunity to see exactly what your police department does, how we operate in concert with city government and what kind of services you can expect as a taxpayer in Bartow. If you have ever wanted to see how a police department operates; how we are funded; or just what goes on in your community, here is your chance.
This year we are going to try a new and different format that will be action packed and full of excitement. If you are interested in where and how we utilize your dollars to provide enforcement, protection and community service, this is your place. Or if you are just genuinely interested in how the police department works, contact Lyn Bryan of the Community Services Team for an application soon. The slots available are limited and they are on a first-come first-served basis reliant on applications and residency.
This is the perfect opportunity for you to learn more about your community, and what you can do to be a part of it. Join the Team. And let’s work together for a better Bartow.
