‘Tis the season for taxes. We currently do not have many of the tax forms that you will need to file this year. They are slowly coming in but the major 1040 forms have not arrived. Please be patient with us as we have no control over their arrival date.
There have been a lot of inquiries about tax help in Bartow and as of now, there is no free service.
The AARP is looking for volunteers that would be willing to help individuals prepare their taxes. If you happen to be interested, call us at the library and we can help you get set up.
The Bartow Public Library is going to the dogs, again. Come by the library today and meet the newest addition to our Paws to Read program — Charlie of Therapy Dogs International. Read aloud to him and receive a free book. Charlie will be in the Children’s Department the fourth Saturday of the month from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Miss Melissa’s story times are in full swing and 3- to 5-year-olds meet at 10 a.m. Wednesdays and 18 months to 2-year-olds meet at 10 a.m. Thursdays.
Our new year has started and now the Chinese New Year is upon us. In honor of that, we are hosting a party on Jan. 28 for 6- to 8-year-olds. Come learn about the Chinese zodiac and why 2014 is the Year of the Horse.
Learn how to write in Chinese, make a craft to take home, and try to eat with chopsticks.
