Robert E. ‘Robbie’ Hooks

Robert E. “Robbie” Hooks 57, of Bartow passed away on Monday,
Aug. 26, 2013, from cancer at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

He was a lifelong resident of Bartow and has worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the phosphate mining industry since he was 18 years of age.

Robbie loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. A dedicated family man, Robbie was a hard worker and a loving husband, father and grandfather; he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years Debbie Hooks of Bartow; two sons, Robert Hooks and wife Amanda of Highland City, Doug Hooks of Bartow and Melissa Hooks of Bartow; three brothers Quentin Hooks and wife Janette of Eagle Lake, Wayne Hooks of Arcadia and Glenn Hooks; sister, Margie Zipperer and husband Harvey of Soperton, Ga.; three grandchildren Natalie Hooks, Brianna Hooks and Waylon Hooks.

A visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow.

Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at the Funeral Home.

Burial in Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
