Betty Gene Waller

Mrs. Betty Gene Waller, 90, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, in Bartow of heart failure.

Mrs. Waller was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Eagle Lake, Texas, and moved to Fort Meade from Old Ocean, Texas, in 1957. She was a homemaker and longtime member of the First Baptist Church, Fort Meade.

Mrs. Waller was also a member of the Fort Meade Garden Club, Fort Meade Woman’s Club and a 1941 graduate of Richmond, Texas, High School.

Mrs. Waller is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Thomas K. Waller, Fort Meade, Fla.; daughters, Jenie Belcher and husband Keith, Winter Haven, Fla., and Jan Wilson and husband Marty, Bartow, Fla.; one grandson, M.J. Wilson, Bartow, Fla. The family also appreciates four special ladies, Gina, Gwen, Teresa and Trudi.

Visitation is 1:30-2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with interment following in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, P.O. Box 8190, Lakeland, Fla., 33802.
