Mrs. Lois C. Ramsey, 79, passed away Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, in Athens, Ga.

Mrs. Ramsey was born May 25, 1935, in Durham, N.C., and was a longtime resident of Fort Meade, Fla.

She was a homemaker and member of Cornerstone Church, Fort Meade, where she was the lead choreographer for the church dance team and helped to make many of the church banners.

Mrs. Ramsey was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas S. Ramsey Sr.

She is survived by her sons, Oscar A. Bennett and wife, Angelika, David E. Bennett and wife, Aida, Thomas S. Ramsey Jr. and wife, Tonya, all of Fort Meade, Fla.; daughters, Debbie Brown Allison and husband, Daryl, Morriston, Fla., Lois Johnson and husband, Merle, and Tootie Gammons and husband, Joe, all of Fort Meade, Fla., Cathy Kennedy and husband Stanley, Winder, Ga.; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, Fla.

Funeral service is 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at Cornerstone Church of God, 10 S. Seminole Ave., Fort Meade, Fla., with Pastor John Arrowood officiating.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Meade.

Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade, is in charge of arrangements.
