June Benton Chancey, 79, of Wauchula, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014.
She was born July 3, 1935, in Bartow and moved to Hardee County from Bartow in 1972.
She was co-owner of Chancey Radiator, a homemaker, and former teller with First National Bank in Bartow.
June was a member of Florida’s First Assembly of God in Wauchula, a Sunday school teacher, and an avid fisherwoman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Clella Benton, husband, Henry Lee Chancey; brothers, Lee, Rudy, and Donald Benton; sister, Jeanette Goodman.
Survivors include her daughter, Laura Johnson (Frank) of Wauchula; brothers, Gene Benton (Jenny) of Monroe, Ga., Cotton Benton (Carolyn) of Lakeland, and Richard Benton (Lori) of Bartow; sisters, Susan King of Winter Haven, Jennie Weldon (Kenny) of Lakeland, and Barbara Arnold (Tommy) of Wauchula; grandson, Kristopher Lee Johnson; 31 nephews and nieces; and 35 great-nephews and great-nieces.
Service is at noon Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Florida’s First Assembly of God with the Rev. Barry Taylor officiating.
Visitation is one hour prior to service time.
Interment is in New Hope Cemetery.
Robarts Family Funeral Home, Wauchula, is in charge of arrangements.
