An accident at approximately 9 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 17 southbound and Case Avenue in the Eloise section of Winter Haven has resulted in three people, two of them children --- airlifted to Tampa General Hospital.

A 28-year-old Bartow man was killed by a shotgun Saturday, the Bartow Police Department reported.

At 2:30 a.m., Jan.14, officers went to the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Fourth Avenue for shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers found a man lying on the ground unresponsive. He suffered an apparent gunshot wounds and Polk Fire Rescue was summoned to assist.
