Although temperatures were brisk and there was a slight breeze, it did not dampen the enthusiasm of the members of the Bartow High School Yellow Jacket Coed Cheerleading team as they and parents began arriving at the parking lot just south of the school’s football stadium at approximately 9:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 27.

In a short while, the team would be riding in either the Bartow Fire Department Ladder 1 truck, or in vehicles following behind the fire engine being driven by firefighter Mike Hancock.
