The BHS Lady Jackets moved to 18-3 for the season as they defeated Lakeland High School 14-1.
The win finished out the regular season district slate as the Jackets went 10-0 to capture the number-one seed in the district which starts the week of April 14 at Kathleen High School.
Bartow sent 13 batters to the plate in the first inning and after four hits, two walks, two hit batters and two Dreadnaught errors Bartow was on top at 6-0.
The Jackets added one in the second, five in the third and two in the fourth. Tonee Fabrizi, DeeAn Davis, Kaycee Twomey, Lexy Sims, Chelsea King and Destiny Breedan all has two hits each while Bayli Robinson, Alex Mace and Meredith McGinnis each chipped in a hit. Fabrizi had a home run in the third inning. Taylor Williams pitched the first for inning allowing one run on three hits while striking out five batters. Hope Brannan finished off the last inning for the Bugs.
On Wednesday April 2, the Baby Bugs suffered their second lost of the season to McKell Academy 4-3. This marked the second time that McKell has beaten them this year. JV’s record is 13-2.

Tuesday, April 8, Bartow hosts the Auburndale Bloodhounds who are raked No. 2 in the state in Class 6A for Bark in the Park Night. Anyone can bring dogs as long as they are on a leash. This is because Bartow plays the Auburndale Bloodhounds. JV 6, Varsity 7:30. This will be the JV’s last game of the season.
Thursday, April 11, the varsity travel to Lake Wales to face the number three ranked 6A Highlanders. Game time 7 p.m.
Friday, April 12, Jackets host the number 5 ranked 6 A team Lake Region Thunder on Senior Night., Game time is 7 p.m. The Jackets will honor seniors Emily Delledonne, Taylor Williams, Brooke Farrer, Chelsea King, Taylor Pittman, DeeAn Davis and Brianah Green.
