Jackets down Pirates

On Friday April 4 the Bartow Lady Jackets traveled south to Bradenton to face a good Braden River team.

The Jackets got on the board in the first inning as Tonee Fabrizi and Lexy Sims had back-to-back hits to plate the first run of the game.

In the second inning Meredith McGinnis was walked then a double by DeeAn Davis and a RBI single by Sims added the second run. Bartow added two more in the third as Mackenzie Brown was walked, Chelsea King had a hit and McGinnis and Mace were walked to score Bartow’s second and third runs.

The Lady Bugs finished it off in the seventh as Mace doubled, moved to third on Fabrizi’s ground out and then Sims hit a long sacrifice fly to score her. Sims, Fabrizi, McGinnis and Davis all had two hits while Mace, Taylor Sturgill and Brown all had one hit each. The win moved Bartow’s record to 19-3, Bartow had 12 hits and received eight walks but left 15 runners on base

The JV upped its record to 14-2 with a 14-1 victory.

The Jackets were in action last night as they faced the Auburndale Bloodhounds, On Thursday the Jackets travel to Lake Wales and Friday they close out their regular season home slate by hosting the Lake Region Thunder. Friday will also be Senior Night where the seven seniors will be honored. These seniors are: Emily Delledonne, Brooke Farrer, Chelsea King, Taylor Williams, Taylor Pittman, DeeAn Davis and Brianah Green.
