Putnam, Delph making names at college ranks

Jonathan Camp has been providing plenty of offense for the Santa Fe College baseball team.

The Fort Meade High School graduate led the team with 30 runs batted in through the 32 of 34 games (20-14) he played. Camp, who had two home runs, led the team with 39 hits.

Camp had a .982 fielding average in 57 chances.

More baseball

University of South Florida’s Buddy Putnam started 25 of 28 games and hit .253 with team highs of two home runs and 19 RBI. The Bartow High School graduate had a .972 fielding average in a team-high 211 chances.

Also out of Bartow, Florida State University’s Josh Delph batted .258 with five RBIs in 28 games.

Lake Wales High School graduate Gerardo Dudamel had a 2-1 record and 3.38 earned run average in nine appearances for Florida Institute of Technology.

Freshman pitcher Taylor Cockrell, a past Highlander, is 2-3 with a 4.12 ERA in 10 appearances for Stetson University.

Previously at Frostproof High School, Stetson pitcher Trey Norris is 1-0 with one save and a 8.64 ERA in a team-high 18 appearances.

Outfielder Kyle Buchanan batted .238 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in 35 games for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The former Bulldog had a .981 fielding average in 52 chances.

Frostproof High product Kyle Andre is a junior pitcher for Valdosta State University.
