Mother nature played a role in the schedule of the Bartow Lady Jackets this week. The Bugs were supposed to host the Auburndale Bloodhounds on Tuesday, April 8, but the rain came and caused the game to be moved to Wednesday.

Bartow players must have still been in the wash out mood as they managed only four hits with three of them coming in the first inning. Bartow committed five errors on the night and lost 4-1.

On Thursday, April 10 the Jackets traveled to Lake Wales to face the Highlanders who are ranked number 2 by Miracle sports. The Lake Wales group were fresh off a 10-6 victory over class 7A George Jenkins on Wednesday.

The Jackets had eight hits but committed three errors in their 7-4 loss.

Lexy Sims had a solo home run for the first run. Mackenzie Brown blasted a triple to score Taylor Sturgill and Kenzie Green who both had hits. Taylor Pittman hit a long fly to score Brown.

For the night Sturgill had two hits, Sims, Fabrizi, Green, Brown, Pittman and McGinnis all had one hit.

Brown had two RBIs and Sims and Pittman had one each.

Bartow pitched Emily Delledonne, Brooke Farrer, Vangie Futch and Taylor Williams.

Bartow JV finished off their season on Wednesday with a 4-1 victory over the Bloodhounds. The Baby Bugs finished off 15-2 season.
