Wings of Freedom fly into Punta Gorda

Seventy-two years ago, Perry Seay, 92, flew with the U.S. Army in a B-24 just like the one he arrived in Monday morning at the Punta Gorda Airport.

The first plane to arrive was a WWII Vintage Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress “Nine O Nine.”

The Wings of Freedom Tour brought vintage World War II era planes Monday to the Punta Gorda Airport. The planes will be on display through Thursday.
