A Clewiston man was arrested Tuesday after threatening his aunt with two steak knives, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest report states Jeremiah Johnson, 31, was staying with his aunt on Education Avenue in Punta Gorda, and they had been arguing over her cellphone since 8 a.m. She told investigators he had been drinking beer and smoking “spice,” or synthetic marijuana, throughout the day.

Around 12:30 p.m., he came into the kitchen and began yelling, not making any sense, she told investigators. He pushed her into the counter and then wrapped his arms around her body, squeezing and preventing her from calling CCSO for help, according to the report. Afterward, she went outside and attempted to get into her neighbor’s house, but he again blocked her.
