Irma vs. Charley: FEMA money varied for residents by county

Homeowners and renters in Sarasota County received nearly 10 times more financial help through the Federal Emergency Management Agency following Hurricane Irma last year than after Charley in 2004, according to numbers released to the Sun by the agency.

Residents in Charlotte and DeSoto counties, meanwhile, received more after Hurricane Charley.
