Deputies who were looking for a man with an outstanding warrant Monday found instead a house that smelled of marijuana where four other men were eventually arrested. Deputies checked a dwelling in the 22100 block of LaSalle Road in Port Charlotte to try to locate a man who had an outstanding warrant for violation of probation. While one deputy went to the rear of the residence, another knocked on the front door. A man came out the back door and when the deputy there asked if the man with the warrant was there, the man told him to “hold on” and went back inside.
When someone answered the knock at the front door, the deputy there immediately smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside. The deputy who had been at the rear of the house came to the front and also smelled the odor of marijuana. The deputies located four men at the house who said they had not seen the wanted man for some time, that he no longer lived at that address. They declined to allow deputies to look inside the house for the wanted man or anything else. Narcotics detectives responded to the address, and by midafternoon obtained a search warrant for the residence. During the search, they located several containers of marijuana and synthetic cannabinoids, along with items of paraphernalia. The total weight of the marijuana was estimated at about 149 grams. They also located a baggie with a blue pill that tested positive for Ecstasy and another baggie that contained aluminum foil with a substance yet to be identified. The four men found at the residence were arrested and transported to the Charlotte County Jail. Lorenzo Angelo Cianfrocca, 26, of the searched address, was charged with possession of ecstasy, possession of synthetic cannabinoids, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $8,500 bond. Darven Civil, 21, of the 300 block of Blarney Street in Port Charlotte; Zachary Alexander Muir, 21, of the 1200 block of Martin Avenue in Port Charlotte; and Christian Emmat Ribel, 20, of the LaSalle Road address, were all charged with possession of not more than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. All three were released on a $2,000 bond each.
