Citizens gather to discuss county’s homeless

In an effort to help curb the growing homeless problem in DeSoto County, a group of concerned community leaders and residents gathered Monday to identify the number and types of homeless in the county, and begin laying the groundwork for possible solutions.

The meeting was led by Robert Vaughn, deacon at St. Edmund’s Episcopal Church in Arcadia. Vaughn has experience with the creation and maintenance of homeless shelters, and helped the group focus on specific goals.
