There is something about trains that fascinates people β€” especially little boys. When we purchased our grandson Ryan a train set for Christmas, he tore open the wrapping and squealed with delight, β€œIt’s a train!”

Just watching him scurry around on the living room floor and putting the tracks together took me back to 1958. It was the year I received an American Flyer train set from the A.C. Gilbert Toy Co. in New Haven, Conn.
