Students stage Olympics at Memorial

Share this story:

First and second grade students of Memorial Elementary School learned about the history of the Olympics, the significance of the torch, the meaning of the five rings and researched past Olympic gold medalists and records.  Students competed for gold in the Marble Ice Dig, the Snowball Toss, the Snowboard Scoot, and the Sled Pull.  Proud students show off their medals from the day’s competition.

Winsor Reed carries the torch to start the Winter Olympics “Memorial style,” when students of first grade teacher Sylvia Remington and second grade teacher Heather Prevatt staged their own version of the Olympics.
