River City Grill now offers a high-end selection of USDA organic wines and spirits made with non-genetically modified ingredients. The restaurant's decision last month to begin offering locally sourced, organic food and drink was born out of owner Doug Amaral's commitment to providing customers with healthier food options without chemically tainted ingredients.

PUNTA GORDA — At some point for most everyone, the unforeseeable happens that alters the course of a person’s life.

For River City Grill owner Doug Amaral, the turning point came last year when he found himself nearly blind and in the belly of a helicopter, flying to Tampa General Hospital after suffering a stroke.
