When out-of-state visitors stop by, they usually have special Florida attractions they want to see, after which we invite them on our own small tour … not the ballyhoo attractions, which are worth seeing of course, but our favorites, which, we think, are the “real” Florida.

We start with our all-time favorite, a tour of nearby Myakka State Park, which contains all Florida’s special gems … trees and native foliage, with a variety of birds and animals, maybe even a view of sunning gators on the park’s small river bank, and then a special view over the elevated walkway, high enough to view the surrounding countryside.
