The Twentieth Century Literary Club met at the home of Irene Pooser for the opening meeting of the year on Sept. 19. Co-hostesses were Dorothy Sellers and Frances Pooser. Following a blessing given by Linda Williams, the ladies enjoyed an autumn dinner of baked ham, potato salad, deviled eggs, chilled asparagus, yogurt fruit salad and ranch crescent rolls served with tea and coffee. A delicious dessert of chocolate three-layer pie topped off the meal.

President Connie Bateman opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and expressing appreciation to the hostesses for their hospitality. Thanks were given to Shelly Baumann, Betty Aaron and Jolaine Konstantinidis for their assistance with the evening’s repast. New members Lois Heine, Stephanie McAnly, Cynthia Mizell and Amy Sorrells received a heartfelt welcome.
