I wrote a column way back in 1997 about what it’d be like to sit down and converse with some of the well-known characters from the Bible. I was digging through my old notebooks and ran across notes I’d made for that particular column awhile back, and saw that I hadn’t used a lot of the ideas I had. So here I am today, finally giving you, as Paul Harvey would say, the rest of the story.
We all know the story of Daniel, and how he was thrown into the lions’ den because he was caught praying. King Darius didn’t want that to happen, but the law was the law. So Daniel spent the night with the beasts and was protected by the Lord. I’d ask Daniel if they sniffed at him and licked their chops, and maybe played a little cat and mouse by tossing him around. If it’d been me, I’d have done more praying, especially every time one of them coughed up a hairball.
