• Big Jim Yarbrough, now packing 253 pounds on his 6-foot, 7-inch frame, said he was “very happy” and “looking forward” to playing pro football for the Detroit Lions. The Arcadian native was a second round pick by the Lions in Tuesday’s professional football draft of top college seniors from around the nation. “They told me I would get to play some tight end, and that I might be used for some at tackle, also,” said Jimmy. “I would like to play tight end if I can but naturally I’ll give it my best wherever they put me.”
