The Twentieth Century Literary Club met on Thursday, Jan. 16 at the beautiful home of Shelly Baumann. Co-hostess Lavenia Carter welcomed ladies as they arrived. Following the annual theme of “Oh, The Places You Will Go,” the decorations and menu were all Italian to reflect the Baumanns’ recent Mediterranean birthday cruise. As the background for the social segment of the evening, members enjoyed seeing the digital slides from the sights they saw on their trip. A delicious dinner of ham, pasta salad and mini-ciabatta was served with a choice of Pellegino sparkling water or Sanpellegrino lemon drinks. A limoncello cake was the perfect ending to the meal. Delightful Italian patterned notepads at each place were mementos of the evening.

President Connie Bateman chaired the meeting and expressed appreciation to the hostesses for their hospitality and the wonderful meal. A warm welcome was given to guests Maggie Henry and Kirsten Flanik. Gratitude was extended to those in the club who provided food and support to Stephanie McAnly’s family at the time of their recent bereavement. The reading of the minutes and the roll call followed.
