Kristie Popa, DeSoto County 4-H agent, and Ana Beswick, County Extension Office manager, told the Arcadia Garden Club members at the February meeting about the many activities and learning opportunities offered by the 4-H program.

Third graders learn how to grow strawberries and spinach using a portable garden system. “Some students believe food only comes from a store,” Popa said. “They never had a fresh green bean from a garden.”
