Charlie Crist looked happy and comfortable in front of the editors and publishers at the Florida Press Association meeting. Unlike Nan Rich or Rick Scott, Charlie Crist has worked very hard to build relationships with many members of Florida’s press.
It was hard to start the convention program on time, and difficult to begin the next item on the agenda, because Crist was visiting with so many people he knew. As chairman, I finally gently placed my hand on Crist’s shoulder and asked if he could continue his meet-and-greet in the hall outside the convention room so we could get on with the next part of the program. The conversations did indeed continue in the hall.
