We have been writing a lot this week about the hurricane that slammed into us a decade ago. About half of us were here when Charley blew though Charlotte, wreaking havoc here and for many miles north following the “not so Peace” River.
The river helped to sustain Charley’s diminishing energy as it moved through the counties to the east and north, all the way to Orlando. The blow was dramatic, awesome, life-threatening and life-changing.
