When you think of the word leadership, who comes to mind? Is it Martin Luther King Jr., Ghandi, or George Washington? Or perhaps, on a smaller scale, your parents, or an influential coach or teacher? One thing they have in common is the ability to make tough decisions, lead without intimidation, and stand alone in the face of harsh criticism.
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair once said, “The art of leadership is saying no, not saying yes. It is very easy to say yes.” Blair’s statement is one council members should take to heart.
