CHARLOTTE COUNTY — Former county commissioner Robert Skidmore has settled a federal lawsuit with former county employee Shonna Jenkins.
County Attorney Janette Knowlton confirmed Wednesday that Skidmore and Jenkins had come to an agreement on a lawsuit Jenkins filed in federal court, accusing the former commissioner of unlawful gender discrimination and sexual harassment. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed as Skidmore, who lost a re-election bid, now is a private citizen.
