Race team looks ahead to Super Boat Grand Prix

As part of the planning and preparation for competing in the inaugural Charlotte Harbor Super Boat Grand Prix, the Lucas Oil SilverHook team is checking the long-range meteorological map — hoping for bad weather. Well, not necessarily the intensity of a Category 5 hurricane, but definitely windy conditions.

“We feel it’s the best boat in rough water,” said team captain Nigel Hook, a three-time world champion with more wins racing high-speed mono-hulls in the open ocean than anyone on the planet.
